Getting Started with Box Out

Welcome to Box Out! Whether you're a coach, Sports Information Director (SID), graduate assistant, student worker, or another member of your athletic department, this guide will help you get up and running quickly.

Dashboard Overview

After logging in, you'll land on the Dashboard. Depending on your organization's setup, your dashboard may look slightly different.
From the Dashboard you can access:

• Recently Created Graphics to quickly reopen your latest designs.
• Upcoming Events & Posts if your schedule has been synced.
• Starter Templates to help new users begin creating graphics.

As you create more content, your recent graphics and upcoming events will automatically populate this page.

Creating a Graphic

To begin designing, navigate to Graphics and select Create.

Browse Templates

Box Out includes hundreds of professionally designed templates organized into categories, making it easy to find exactly what you need.
Common template categories include:

• Game Day
• Final Score
• Birthday
• Recruiting
• Schedule
• Commitment
• QR Codes

Search for Templates

Instead of browsing categories, use the search bar to quickly locate templates by keyword.
For example:

• Birthday
• QR
• Game Day
• Senior Night

Simply click any template to begin editing.

Customizing Your Design

When a template opens, Box Out automatically loads your organization's branding.
You can customize:

• Team colors
• Team logo
• Fonts
• Dates
• Times
• Locations
• Text

After making changes, click Update Preview to generate the latest version of your design.
Continue editing until you're satisfied with the finished graphic.

Saving Your Graphic

Once your design is complete, click Save.
Saved graphics remain available on your Dashboard and can be reopened at any time.

Posting to Social Media

Box Out allows you to publish graphics directly to your social media accounts.
Before posting, you'll first need to connect your accounts.
Navigate to Promote → Social Media → Accounts.
From here, you can authorize:

• Facebook
• X (Twitter)
• Instagram

Multiple accounts can be connected if needed.
Once connected, you'll be able to post directly from Box Out.
Available publishing options include:

• Download
• Email
• Post to Social

Graphics are automatically formatted for each platform, including landscape, square, and story formats.
You can also preview your post before publishing or schedule it for a future date.

Generate Captions with Mascot SID

Mascot SID is Box Out's built-in AI writing assistant.
After creating a graphic, Mascot SID analyzes the design and generates five suggested social media captions based on its content.
Choose your preferred caption, make any edits you'd like, then schedule or publish your post.

Managing Uploads

Store and organize your media library by navigating to Manage → Uploads.
From here you can:

• Upload photos
• Drag and drop files
• Create folders
• Move assets
• Delete unused files

The upload manager works similarly to cloud storage services, making it easy to organize your content.

Syncing Your Schedule

Save time by connecting your team's schedule to Box Out.
Navigate to Manage → Events.
Paste your team's iCal (ICS) schedule link from your scheduling provider.
Once synced, Box Out automatically imports:

• Opponents
• Game dates
• Times
• Locations

This information is then available for your graphics without requiring manual entry.
If you need help locating your iCal link, click the Live Chat button or search the Help Center for supported scheduling providers.

Creating Graphics from Scheduled Events

After your schedule has been imported, creating graphics becomes even faster.
Simply open an event and select Create Graphic.
Box Out automatically fills the template with your event information, allowing you to review, customize, and publish in just a few clicks.

Managing Opponents

Box Out includes a growing database of schools across the country.
Navigate to Manage → Opponents to search for an opponent.
Each opponent includes available branding assets such as:

• Official logo
• Primary colors
• Secondary colors

If a school is missing, contact support through Live Chat and the Box Out team can add it.

Settings

The Settings page is intended for organization administrators.
Administrators can manage:

• Team branding
• Colors
• Logos
• Fonts
• User access

Most team users will not need to make changes in this section.
